Welcome to OCS’s Product of the week! We’ll be highlighting a specific product each week and picking out some key features and benefits of that particular item. This week, we're going to highlight the 9-in-1 Painter’s Tool from Richard. Now the name of it does tell you that it’s a painter's tool, but let's not get hung up on painters only! This tool is very useful in a number of different industries.

Richard 9-in-1 Painter’s Tool
Key Features
To start, it has a paint roller cleaner along one edge, so it can be used to scrape excess paint off of any paint roller. This will allow you to get more mileage out of our paint and makes the paint roller very easy to clean.
It also has another edge that is used for opening up paint cans. Just get that little wedge underneath the lip of the lid and pry it open! Now on the other end, (the back) is a very smooth surface to apply any compounds; now you can spread them nice and easy with the front side of the tool.
It’s also got a tapered edge for scraping purposes. Whether that's to get any excess compound off, or any residue from stickers, etc. that might be on a surface. Moving over to the other side of the tool, we have what is called a crack cleaner. This can be used to clean out any cracks on any surface. Or it can be used to cut any silicone sealants that might be present!
On the back of the handle, there is a metal plate that can be used as a hammer! This can be used to close a paint can lid or for any hammering applications. You probably want to keep it to light duty hammering jobs though!
Then moving back to the face of the tool, there is a nail puller, or setter. This can be used to remove nails from a surface, or hold a nail in place as we quickly put it into the surface.
Lastly, this tool has a convex and concave surface for cleaning out any surfaces that may not be flat (surfaces that the front edge would not be useful for).
So if you missed it, the 9 functions of this nifty little tool are:

- Cleans rollers
- Opens paint cans
- Spreads compound
- Scrapes residue
- Cleans out cracks
- Closes paint cans
- Pulls nails
- Scrapes concaves and convex surfaces
- Sets nails
The Design
The Richard 9-in-1 Painter’s Tool also has an ergonomic design that reduces strain and muscle fatigue by eliminating pressure points when scraping. The blade itself is made from high-carbon steel, and the rubber-like handle material maximizes your grip.
So as you can see, there's many functionalities to this tool. It does orientate towards painters, but any handyman, technician or tradesman would have many, many uses for this!
